"This is truly a master-planned community intended to respect the Gold Rush history & enhance the rural character of the town."

Our Vision

We are so pleased to introduce Cottage Knoll, in Plymouth, California!

The vision behind Cottage Knoll is modeled after development that occurred mostly in the early 1900's. These residential communities were compact, served a strong central business district, tended to be walkable and contained a mix of house styles.

Cottage knoll will have vernacular architectural designs that include modern amenities and luxuries for today's lifestyle, scaled to match original neighborhood design. We also want to offer walkability, open spaces and affordability, as related to regional income levels and real estate prices.

With Cottage Knoll, we want to promote:

A healthy community that provides families with a clean living environment which balances development and environmental protection. We want to accommodate growth while preserving open space and critical habitat, protecting water supplies and air quality.

Economic development by creating business opportunities and thus improving local tax base: these would provide neighborhood services and amenities that will create an economically competitive community.
Enduring neighborhoods which provide a range of housing options giving people the opportunity to choose housing that best suits them and their families. This maintains and enhances the value of existing neighborhoods and creates a sense of community.
Transportation choices that give people the option to walk, ride a bicycle, take transit or drive.
We would also like to propose a little something new too. The application will be requesting zoning on certain lots that would allow farm animals and horse boarding. One merely needs to attend the Amador County Fair to realize the magnitude of Amadorian's farm and ranching heritage and the incredible 4H participation.

Cottage Knoll will also be the "trailhead" of the "Arroyo Ditch Runs Through Us" trail system, designed for people, bikes and horses - just another part of our vision that will connect our neighborhoods to Plymouth's Historic Downtown District and the Amador County Fairgrounds.
